JAUSIERS and the VALLEE DE L'UBAYE
Jausiers is a village with plenty of culture and history, which is at the gateway to the Mercantour National Parc. La Mexicaine is situated along the river ‘ l’Ubaye’ at circa 200m of the picturesque village.
In the summer ‘le Plan d’eau de Siguret’, an artificial lake is at the end of the road. This is the attraction of the village (with supervised area).
The town of Barcelonnette is the capital of the valley at an altitude of 1135m and has a historical character as a mountainous. Manuel square, surrounded by coloured façades, is the heart of the historical centre and also the centre of all the activities. Dominated by the Cardinalis tower from the 15th century, there are plenty of cosy terraces and bistros. Further around the square you can discover the traffic-free streets full of interesting shops.

Each year in august the Latin-Mexican festival takes place in Barcelonnette for 10 days, a party of concerts, processions and mariachi’s throughout the city.

Skiing and Cross country
Ski stations (free shuttles, stop at circa 100m from La Mexicaine)
Pra Loup (20’): large area with two stations, 180km of pure pleasure and 50 ski lifts, 3 kindergartens, 4 slopes for sleigh riding, area with professional slopes.
Le Sauze, Super Sauze (15’) : 65km of slide, 23 ski lifts, 37 slopes
St-Anne La Condamine (20’) : friendly and charming ski station, ideal for families with children or beginning skiers
Var (35’m): ski station at the other side of col the Var
Larche (20’): ‘La dolce vita’ close to the Italian border, 30km of slide, known for cross country
St-Paul: (20’): snow rackets (10km of marked-out slopes)
Meyronnes: natural sleigh ride slope of 3km
